Fishermen from Tamil Nadu set out to sea from the Rameswaram fishing harbor in three fishing boats.
On the 19th of this month, they were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy.
The court imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on each of the 15 fishermen.
Release
After the fine was paid, the court ordered the release of all 15 fishermen. They then flew from Colombo to Chennai.
Fisheries department officials welcomed them and arranged for their return to Rameswaram.
