Shortly after his swearing-in ceremony, Donald Trump delivered his inaugural address, revealing the wide-reaching executive actions he intends to implement on the first day of his second term.

Donald Trump signed an unprecedented number of executive orders in a public display, drawing an enthusiastic crowd, just hours after taking the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States. He continued signing additional orders after arriving at the White House later that day.

Right after his inauguration, Donald Trump delivered a speech outlining the expansive executive measures set for day-one of his second term. He followed up with a second address after witnessing the presidential parade, during which he signed nearly 80 executive orders aimed at reversing decisions made by the Biden administration. "We will first sign executive orders to revoke nearly 80 harmful and extreme actions of the previous administration," he stated, moments before putting pen to paper.

In detailing the orders, President Trump stated that his primary goal is to declare a national emergency at the southern border with Mexico. "All illegal entries will immediately cease, and we will begin the process of deporting millions of criminal aliens back to their countries of origin," he emphasized, adding that he would immediately deploy troops along the border.

The president also mentioned that his day-one orders would include measures to curb immigration, boost fossil fuel production, and roll back environmental regulations, including withdrawing from the 2021 Paris Climate Agreement.

The initial executive order he signed focused on ending remote work for federal employees. "Leaders of all departments and agencies within the executive branch shall, as soon as feasible, take all necessary steps to discontinue remote work arrangements," the White House announced right after the president's signature. The order requires employees to "return to their workstations for full-time duties, with exceptions to be made at the discretion of department and agency heads."

Regarding fossil fuel production, Trump declared that his actions on day one would initiate a "national energy emergency," removing all restrictions on mining and allowing for increased oil extraction, often referred to as "drill baby drill." Trump further declared, "America will once again be a manufacturing powerhouse, and we possess something no other nation can match: the largest reserves of oil and gas on Earth – and we are going to use it."

Another significant order signed was aimed at "restoring free speech and ending federal censorship." This move follows Trump’s claims that Joe Biden and his administration had suppressed free speech on digital platforms.

"Over the past four years, the prior administration undermined free speech rights by censoring Americans' voices on online platforms, often exerting considerable pressure on third-party companies, such as social media platforms, to moderate, de-platform, or otherwise suppress speech disapproved by the federal government," the White House explained.

Donald Trump also revealed that his day-one actions would initiate the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. He also announced a new US policy recognizing only two genders—male and female.

Additionally, Trump declared that his administration would terminate the Green Policy favoring electric vehicles (EVs) through the signing of his orders.

Among other directives, President Trump exercised his powers to grant pardons to more than 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, US Capitol riots, following his loss in the previous election to Joe Biden.

During his speech following the presidential parade, President Trump mentioned that one of the executive orders would grant his administration the authority to use all its powers to combat inflation and lower the costs of goods and services.
