Philadelphia Plane Crash: Medical Jet Accident Sets House & Cars on Fire – Latest Updates

A small aircraft crashed in Philadelphia, USA, causing at least one house and several cars to catch fire, according to reports from local news agencies.

The small medical jet, which was carrying a sick child and five others, crashed just 30 seconds after takeoff on the night of January 31.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the accident occurred after 6 PM near Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia.

Reports indicate that a house and multiple cars caught fire at the crash site. At the time of the incident, the weather was cold, rainy, and had low visibility.

Local news outlet CBS Philadelphia released images of the fire and emergency response at the scene. Nevertheless, the precise count of victims remains unverified. CBS reported that two people were on board the plane, while Fox Philadelphia stated that six people were on board.

The Philadelphia Emergency Management Office described the incident as a "major event" on social media. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro reassured the public that "all state resources" were being made available to support emergency personnel at the crash scene.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated on social media that he is closely monitoring the situation and working to gather more details.

This incident comes after a major crash involving an American Airlines jet and a U.S. military Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, D.C., which resulted in the deaths of 67 people. It is considered the deadliest aviation disaster in the U.S. since 2009.
