This statement has raised questions about whether she is trying to become Canada’s female version of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, who assumed office as the U.S. President, has been making swift decisions, including an order to expel illegal immigrants, promising to create more job opportunities for U.S. citizens. In the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, Trump won, and as part of his responsibilities, he issued orders to remove individuals living illegally in the country, starting the process for deportations. There are reports that 18,000 Indian nationals could be deported from the U.S. soon.

Meanwhile, Ruby Thalla, an Indian-origin candidate in Canada's Prime Ministerial race, has made a bold statement that has caused quite a stir. In her video, she declares: "I will expel every illegal immigrant from Canada. It's unacceptable that half a million people are living illegally in this country. As the daughter of immigrants, I know how immigrants helped build our nation, but we cannot allow people to enter the country unlawfully."
