Prince Edward's 2025 Visit to India: Strengthening UK-India Ties & Promoting Youth Development
Prince Edward visits India for a three-day trip to celebrate UK-India relations and promote youth development through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. During his visit, he meets young people in Mumbai and Delhi, emphasizing the importance of education, sports, and arts. The visit aims to strengthen political and social ties between the two nations, with plans for a trip to Nepal after completing his engagements in India.

British Prince Edward has arrived in Mumbai as part of his three-day visit to India. The visit is designed to celebrate the long-standing relationship between Britain and India, as well as to encourage the development of youth, according to Buckingham Palace.
Prince Edward, who was titled the Duke of Edinburgh in March 2023, has visited India as an official member of the royal family. Previously, in 2019, the then Prince of Wales, Charles, visited India.
Prince Edward’s Travel Schedule:
- In Mumbai and Delhi, he will meet with youth to promote the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program.
- The award, launched by his father, Prince Philip, in 1956, helps enhance the skills of young people.
- The award is given in India under the name International Award for Young People (IAYP).
- Since 1962, over 150,000 students have benefited from it.
- He will emphasize the importance of sports and the arts during discussions with educational and business leaders in India.
Political and Social Significance: This visit is considered a major event to strengthen the relationship between Britain and India. British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron remarked that Prince Edward's visit is an important opportunity to reinforce the strong bond between India and Britain.
After completing his work in India, Prince Edward will travel to Nepal and join his wife Sophie and the Queen of Edinburgh.
