Vijay Sethupathi Donates ₹1.3 Crore to FEFSI: Boosting Tamil Cinema's Workforce with New Housing Project.
Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi has generously donated ₹1.3 crore to the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) for the construction of a new apartment complex for Workers' Union members in Chennai, named "Vijay Sethupathi Towers." The initiative, supported by Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, highlights Sethupathi’s commitment to the welfare of the Tamil film industry. The actor, who had a successful 2024 with films like Merry Christmas and Maharaja, is set to appear in upcoming projects Gandhi Talks, Ace, and Train in 2025.

Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi has recently extended a generous contribution to the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) in Chennai. A trade expert shared on X that Sethupathi donated Rs 1.30 crore for the development of a residential complex for the Workers' Union members. The apartment tower will be named Vijay Sethupathi Towers. On Friday, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, formally handed over a revised government order granting land to the heads of FEFSI, the Tamil Film ProducersCommittee, the South Indian Performers' Union, and the Tamil Nadu Television Artists' Guild. FEFSI consists of 23 unions and around 25,000 members associated with diverse roles in the Tamil film and television industries.
In 2024, Vijay was involved in three major film projects. He began the year with Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan, a bilingual film also featuring Katrina Kaif. His landmark 50th film, Maharaja, directed by Nithilan Saminathan and co-starring Anurag Kashyap, was released last year and garnered significant box office success. He concluded the year with Viduthalai Part 2, helmed by Vetrimaaran, where he starred alongside Manju Warrier. Looking forward to 2025, Vijay Sethupathi is set to feature in Gandhi Talks, Ace, and Train. While the release date for the silent film Gandhi Talks is yet to be confirmed, Ace and Train are expected to hit theaters this year.
