Mexican Cartel Attack on U.S. Border Patrol Sparks Security Concerns: Trump's Response Explained
Learn about the Mexican cartel attack on U.S. Border Patrol agents, the response from President Trump, and the security measures in place to tackle escalating threats at the southern border

A shocking incident has occurred at the southern border, where members of Mexican cartel groups opened fire on U.S. Border Patrol agents.
Gunfire at the Border
Video footage reveals cartel members shooting at drones after spotting them approaching the U.S. border. This attack follows President Donald Trump's declaration labeling cartel groups as terrorists. The shooting took place near Guadalupe Guerra in Texas on Monday at around 2 PM local time.
A separate video shows cartel members crossing into an island in the Rio Grande River from Mexico. Texas state authorities have been closely monitoring the area, with Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Chris Olivarez stating that every possible opportunity will be used to counter transnational threats to law enforcement.
Preparing for Action
Meanwhile, reports suggest that a leader of one of the most dangerous and active cartels is preparing his organization to confront President Trump. Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, widely known as El Mencho, leads the CJNG (Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación). It is reported that following Trump's announcement, El Mencho called for an emergency meeting with his top commanders.
Additionally, a $15 million bounty has been placed on El Mencho's head. In response to escalating threats, the Pentagon has deployed 1,500 active-duty service members to the border, supporting Border Patrol operations with helicopters and additional barriers under Trump's leadership.
