Infosys Fires 400 Freshers at Mysuru Campus: Mandatory Test Failures Spark Controversy.

Narayana Murthy's Infosys has dismissed around 400 newly hired employees at its Mysuru campus after they allegedly failed to pass specific mandatory evaluations. While the decision faced criticism from the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), the IT giant has now issued a clarification.

"All new hires are given three opportunities to pass the assessment, and failure to do so results in discontinuation from the organization," the company stated in an interaction with PTI.

The large-scale dismissal, executed on February 7, impacted trainees who had been waiting for two and a half years to join the company after receiving their offer letters in 2022, according to a report by MoneyControl.

"This is inhumane; it is a major corporation, and trainees are afraid to voice their concerns," a dismissed trainee shared with MoneyControl under the condition of anonymity.

As per sources, the layoffs were conducted in an organized manner, with groups of trainees summoned with their laptops in the presence of security staff and bouncers.
